History of Asian American immigration : ウィキペディア英語版 | Asian immigration to the United States Asian immigration to the United States refers to immigration to the United States from throughout the continent of Asia, including East Asia, Southeast Asia, South Asia, Central Asia, and the Middle East. Asian-origin populations have historically been in the territory that would become the United States since the 16th century. Asian Americans experienced legal exclusion from the United States during the 1880s to 1965, and were largely prohibited from naturalization until the 1940s. Since the Immigration and Nationality Act of 1965, a new wave of Asian immigration has occurred, and nearly 40% of all new immigrants to the United States in 2010 were from Asia. ==History==
